Two people have been arrested in connection to a shooting in New Iberia.

On Wednesday at 7:22 pm, the New Iberia Police Department was notified of a possible shooting after a person went to Iberia Medical Center to be treated for a non-life threatening gun shot wound, according to Captain John Babin, spokesperson for the Department.

Detectives discovered that the shooting took place in the area of Shelton St. and Spencer Loop in New Iberia.

Through further investigation detectives were able to locate the suspects involved in the shooting.

Police arrested 18-year-year-old Nolan Davis on a charge of attempted second degree murder and 22-year-old Alaisha Nora on a charge of accessory after the fact to second degree murder.

Police say Davis was also arrested on outstanding warrants for home invasion and second degree battery unrelated to the shooting incident.

This investigation is ongoing with more arrest expected.
