IBERIA PARISH — Two have been arrested following reports of a shooting on Thursday night at a New Iberia residence.

Police say they received information on September 5 regarding individuals riding around in a vehicle with firearms. Those same individuals, according to the report, were also involved in a shooting at a residence.

Police were able to locate a vehicle parked at a residence with several individuals standing outside matching the description of those involved.

One of the individuals was recognized by police as allegedly being involved in a shooting incident that occurred in May. That individual, identified as Damauria Boatman, was arrested. During a search, three firearms were located.

A second individual, identified as Ja'Bryson Roman and who was with Boatman, had allegedly confronted other individuals while armed with a firearm. Police say Roman confronted the individuals because he believe they were responsible for shooting at the residence.

Following the investigation, Boatman was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on the charges of 3 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, 3 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Illegal Use of Weapons, and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.

Roman was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on the charges of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Illegal Carrying of Weapons.
