One man is in critical condition following an afternoon shooting in Jeanerette. Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
According to City Marshal Fernest Martin, the shooting happened around 1:00 or 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. A man was shot numerous times in the upper torso on Pelican Ct. in the Candlewood Subdivision. He was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
The Jeanerette Marshals Office have arrested April Lewis, 29, Joshua Perro, 31, and Khadijah Stewart, 25, for two counts of attempted first degree murder.
Chief Martin added that all three arrests were made within five hours of the shooting.
