Taunt Na Na's 2nd Annual Chili Dog Cook Off happened today in downtown New Iberia at Bouligny Plaza.

Along with the cook-off will be Taunt Na Na's Trade Days featuring handcrafted items and live demonstrations by various crafters including blacksmiths, woodworkers, artists and more.

Taunt Na Na's Flea Market is a multi-vendor indoor flea market established in 2015 and located in the beautiful Downtown Historic District of New Iberia.

More than 50 vendors offer a wide variety of treasures to be found. The market is open every Thursday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Tonya Romero, co-owner of Taunt Na Na, said there were six teams competing in the cook-off this year. The best part of the event is seeing how each team interprets the idea of a chili dog, she said.

"In this area, some people think a chili dog does not have a weenie," she said.

Todd Badeaux, co-owner said the event is an effort to bring more folks downtown.

"We're tryin to bring activity to downtown New Iberia, keep it going," he siad. "And it smells good!"

"New iberia's a good place to be, so people should come out and take advantage of what we have to offer," Romero added. "We have a great Main Street, a great downtown area, and hopefully more people will come out and enjoy it."
