The New Iberia Police Department is searching for a man wanted in connection to a wallet theft at a local business.

Police say the victim was shopping at the store on Wednesday, June 24, and left his wallet, containing a large amount of cash, at a self-checkout register.

Upon returning to the register, police say the victim discovered that his wallet was missing.

A review of the store's surveillance cameras showed a suspect taking the wallet from the self-checkout area.

Police are now attempting to identify the suspect.

Anyone with information on the identity of the person can contact Iberia Crime Stopper at 337-369-TIPS or the New Iberia Police Department at 337-369-2306.
