Police asking for help locating two suspects

NEW IBERIA, La. - Correction: A previous version of this story included a different name for one of the wanted suspects. NIPD has since issued a correction with the below information.

Police are asking for assistance in locating two suspects.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at 11:02 pm the New Iberia Police Department received a call in reference to a shooting which occurred in the 900 block of Mississippi St., according to police.

One person was injured in the shooting and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The New Iberia Police Department is asking for help from the public with information on the whereabouts of Bryson Johnson and Brendon Morton. Both men are wanted by the New Iberia Police Department, stated John Babin, spokesperson for the Department.

Brendon Morton is wanted for two counts of attempted first degree murder, illegal discharge of a firearm/weapon, aggravated criminal damage, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Bryson Johnson is also wanted for two count of attempted first degree murder, illegal discharge of a firearm/weapon, aggravated criminal damage and felon in possession of a firearm.
