A New Iberia man has died following a Tuesday morning fatal crash on LA Hwy 88 south of US Hwy 90 in Iberia Parish.

Troopers say they responded to the scene around 4:00 am on July 28 to the crash involving a pedestrian.

The crash claimed the life of 33-year-old Bradley Paul Comeaux of New Iberia.

A preliminary investigation by State Police revealed that Comeaux was walking east in the eastbound lane of LA 88 when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in that lane.

Comeaux was pronounced dead at scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.

State Police say the driver of the vehicle was not impaired at the time of the crash and was properly restrained. He suffered no injuries.

Standard toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis, according to troopers.

This crash remains under investigation.
