A veteran in New Iberia is getting a new roof thanks to a roofing project and help from a local company.
Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana will be putting that roof on US Navy veteran James Norman's home thanks to Owens Corning Roof Deployment project.
Norman was selected to receive a new roof through a partnership with Purple Heart Homes. Materials were donated to Jim Olivier's Roofing to get the job done.
Organizers say this will be an all day project but are glad to give back to Norman for his service to the country.
The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them. Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 190 military members have received new roofs.
"We love doing things like this for the community, to give back because we have been blessed. You know, you're blessed to be a blessing? And especially those who have given everything for us and for our freedoms," said owner Anna Olivier.
