The 2020 El Festival Espanol de Nueva Iberia has been canceled.

The festival's board of directors made the decision to cancel this year's event due to an increase in positive COVID-19 test results.

Back in March, the festival was rescheduled to run from August 28 through August 30, 2020

The board says that this year's cancellation was "warranted and appropriate" and that they look forwards to next year's festival which will run from April 16 to April 18, 2021.

Along with the festival, this year's Spanish Gala and King's Ball have also been canceled.

Those who purchased tickets to the events are asked to contact the festival treasurer to request a refund or have their tickets honored for 2021.

The festival says that the cost of the ticket can also be donated to help cover losses occurred from advertising and printing materials for this year.
