NEW IBERIA, La. - A 41-year-old New Iberia man is in jail accused of raping a child.
Juvenile investigators received a complaint involving inappropriate touching of an 11-year-old juvenile. During the investigation New Iberia Police detectives learned that the victim was sexually abused on three different occasions during the summer months, according to the New Iberia Police Department's official Facebook page.
While executing a search warrant, police were able to seize several items from the residence of 41-year-old Jeff Bourque.
Bourque was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on three counts of first degree rape.
This is an on-going investigation and more charges are expected.
