New Iberia City Council to discuss adjusting millage rates

NEW IBERIA, La. — The New Iberia City Council will meet Tuesday to discuss adjusting millage rates that will be levied on the 2020 tax roll on all property subject to taxation by the city.

According to the meeting agenda, the millage adjustments come from the 2020 Re-Assessment and will be open to public comment before the council votes to adopt the ordinance on the millages.

The millages being discussed include:

  • General Purpose - 5.75 Mills
  • Streets, Sidewalks and Alleys - 3.44 Mills
  • Public Parks & Recreational Facilities - 2.95 Mills
  • General Obligation Bonds - 6.83 Mills
  • Debt Service - 3.99 Mills

The New Iberia City Council will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 457 E. Main St., in New Iberia.
