Solomon House was out in New Iberia feeding the community but received some help from a local restaurant.
Every Tuesday the group gives out food baskets and today McDonald's provided 150 dozen bagels to their donations. The donations were made with the help of Acadiana area McDonald's restaurants.
Solomon House feeds about 150 families each week.
They set up distributions on Center Street in New Iberia from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesdays.
"We are seeing approximately 50 families a week that have never utilized the food pantry before. So it's very important that we are here and that we provide a positive attitude and that we let them know we are all in this together," explained volunteer Ella Nora. "Because there is no one on the face of the earth that has never needed help before."
