Students at Loreauville High School have returned to virtual learning on Thursday due to a "COVID-19 situation" at the school, according to Superintendent Carey Laviolette.

The virtual instruction, which began on November 12, will continue through Friday, November 20.

Laviolette says that students at Loreauville High will return to face-to-face instruction following the Thanksgiving holidays on Monday, November 30.

All extracurricular activities, including two football games, have been canceled due to the situation.

Laviolette adds that student and employee safety continues to be the highest priority of the Iberia Parish School District.
