JEANERETTE — A suspect in a deadly Thursday night shooting is in custody and facing an attempted second-degree murder charge.
According to the Jeanerette City Marshal's Facebook page, Kimmy Dauntain was arrested in connection with the First Street shooting. Law enforcement received the call around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The victim died at the scene. Neither a motive nor the name of the victim has been released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
