The City of Jeanerette is looking for an attorney.
"Our current City Attorney has resigned and the City of Jeanerette is accepting applications for a new City Attorney," a release from the city says. "This person will be the legal adviser and attorney for all officials, officers, and departments of the City and will represent the City in all litigation and proceedings. This person will also draft and review ordinances, resolutions, policies and procedures and contracts."

The former City Attorney, Roger Hamilton Jr. resigned because he was elected as Judge of the 16th Judicial branch Division H.
