Jeanerette community collecting supplies for Laura relief

Several organization in Jeanerette are asking the community to come together to support relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Laura.

A supply drive is currently ongoing through September 30 at locations across the city.

Little Zorah Missionary Baptist Church, A New Chapter P.U.S.H. and Jeanerette United are working with the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce to collect donations.

The groups say that non-perishable foods, toiletries, baby items, clothing, and water can be dropped off daily at the following locations:

  • The Snack Shack: 1421-A Martin Luther King Drive
  • Mac's Sugar City Grocery: 1001 Main Street
  • City Pharmacy: 1411 Main Street
  • Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce: 1407 Main Street
  • Jeanerette City Hall: 1010 Main Street
  • Family Dollar: 2512 Main Street (will accept donations beginning Friday, September 18 from 3pm to 6pm)

Those wishing to make a monetary donation can make checks payable to A New Chapter P.U.S.H. and mail them to:

Money can also be sent via the Cash App to $anewchapterpush1.

All donated items and funds will be delivered to churches in the Lake Charles area for distribution to those in need.
