Iberia Parish President Larry Richard has issued two updates for Hurricane Laura.
First, all curfews set in the parish for the storm are now lifted.
Secondly, it is time for Iberia Parish residents to report their damage to FEMA. It's vital that residents report their damage because FEMA uses those reports in deciding which parishes will receive assistance following a disaster.
Richard said all businesses and residents should submit reports of damage as soon as possible.
To do so, you can call (337)492-5451 or you can visit https://https://arcg.is1xjnhw/
You will need:
Name and Address
Contact information (phone number and email)
Pictures of any and all damages
What damage was sustained to home or business
Whether you own or rent the property
Whether or not you have homeowners or business insurance coverage
These reports don't mean you have a claim with FEMA; it is what Iberia Parish will use to ask FEMA for disaster assistance. The parish must qualify for FEMA assistance before anyone can make a claim or be eligible for any assistance. Gathering proof of damage in the parish justifies the parish's request.
