NEW IBERIA, La. — UPDATE 7:30 p.m: The New Iberia Police Department says that Neshana Collins has turned herself in to police at approximately 5:42 p.m. and is being processed at the Iberia Parish Jail. Collins was wanted for allegedly assaulting a bus driver while on their route Friday morning in New Iberia. A second suspect is still wanted.

Collin's bond has been set at $10,000.

NIPD says Collins was booked for the following charges: Interference in the Operation; Terrorizing; Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway; Criminal Trespassing; Second Degree Battery; and Battery on a School Teacher.

Police are still looking for Travis Layne, who has active warrants on the following:

Interference in the Operation, Terrorizing, Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway, Criminal Trespassing, Second Degree Battery, and Battery on a School Teacher

Anyone with information on Layne's whereabouts are asked to contact NIPD at 337-369-2306.

Officers with NIPD were dispatched to the intersection of Yvonne Street and Zez Street in reference to a physical altercation involving a bus driver and a parent.

Iberia Parish School Superintendent Carey Laviolette, who initially confirmed the incident to KATC, said the bus driver was assaulted on Friday morning while on route in New Iberia.

The incident was reported to police and the bus driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police add. The family member says the bus driver is now at home resting after the incident.
