The Iberia Parish Public Schools 2019-2020 Orientation Schedule has been released. The first full day of school is Friday, August 9, 2019, for students in 1st-12th grades. Thursday, August 15, 2019, is the first full day of school for Pre-K and Kindergarten students

School uniforms are required for orientation.

ALTERNATIVE CENTER FOR EDUCATION

Wednesday, August 7, 2019 9:30 a.m. ALL GRADES

ALL students and parents must attend orientation. Orientation will take place in the cafeteria and begin promptly. No one will be admitted after the doors are closed. Students must pay a $20.00 registration fee (CASH or MONEY ORDERS ONLY). The ACE Uniform Policy will be strictly enforced. Students will not be able to attend orientation if they are not in compliance with program's uniform policy. The make-up session for orientation will be held the first day of school on Friday, August 9, 2010 at 8:00 a.m.

The total fees will be $40.00. This includes an ID card and lanyard, P. E. Uniform (if needed), student planner and registration fee. All checks should be made payable to Belle Place Middle School (BPMS). The student's name must be in the memo line of the check. Regulation parish uniforms must be worn for orientation. Schedules will only be given to students in correct parish uniforms.

COTEAU ELEMENTARY

Students in Pre-K-6th grades are invited to attend either orientation time. All students must be in uniform. They are to report directly to the cafeteria. After a brief orientation with the principal, students will be allowed to visit their classrooms. Rosters will be posted outside of each classroom door. Labeled school supplies may be brought to the classrooms during this time except for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Those may be brought when the students come for testing.

Registration for student care will be in the library. ID's and spirit wear will be sold in the cafeteria. All students are required to have an I.D. These will be $10.00. Any checks written must have the student's name in the memo. New students may not register during orientation. 2018-2019 yearbooks will be distributed to those that pre-ordered them.

DASPIT ELEMENTARY

There will only be one orientation for Pre-K and Kindergarten parents.

NO PRE-K OR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND ORIENTATION.

Parents of 1st-6th grade students need to attend only one of the scheduled orientation sessions.

Students in grades 1st-6th grades may attend orientation but MUST be in school uniform. Any student that is not in school uniform will not be allowed in the building.

Parents and students report directly to the classrooms. Rosters will be posted on the outside of the classrooms.

Tables will be set up for Student Care Registration, Car Rider Numbers and Fees.

Please pay fees for each child separately. Put the money in a SEALED ENVELOPE. Make sure your child's name is written on the outside of the envelope.

Fee totals for grade levels are as follows:

DELCAMBRE ELEMENTARY

Due to limited space students are not required to attend the orientation meetings.

Parents will report to the cafeteria for a welcome meeting with the Principal. After the meeting, parents will go to their student's classroom to bring their school supplies. Please individually label all school supplies before you bring them for orientation. Registration for student care will be available before and after each orientation.

Only parents and current Delcambre High School students are allowed to attend orientation. Students must attend orientation at the scheduled time for their designated grade only. Visitors will not be permitted.

The doors to the new gym will open 15 minutes prior to each orientation session to sell planners, IDs and lanyards, P. E. uniforms, spirit shirts, and parking permits. No one will be allowed to enter the gym after orientation begins. Schedules can be picked up following each orientation session. Complete school uniform and proper grooming is required.

New students may not register during orientation. Proper documentation for registration is required.

ALL outstanding fees from the prior year must be paid prior to orientation on August 7, 2019 for High School and August 8, 2019 for Jr. High.

IBERIA MIDDLE

There will be a short mandatory presentation for parents and IMS students in the gym at the beginning of each orientation period (beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m. & 9:45 a.m.) Only parents and current IMS students are allowed to attend orientation for safety and capacity reasons.

JEANERETTE HIGH

Orientation will be held in the auditorium and begins promptly at the time indicated. Students must attend at the scheduled time for their designated grade only.

No one will be allowed in the auditorium after orientation begins. STUDENTS MUST BE IN COMPLETE UNIFORM. See student fee information below.

Repeat Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior orientation will be held on the first day of school, Friday, August 9th.

Student orientation fees are $30.00 (NO CHECKS ACCEPTED; CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY) This fee includes the student ID card, lanyard, student planner, school wide management handbook, and book locker.

Any student who does not complete their scheduled orientation will be assessed a $5.00 late fee for a make-up orientation.

Parents with students in multiple grades only need to attend one session. Students may attend but must be in uniform. School supplies may be brought at this time. All parents and students will report directly to cafeteria for general announcements and handbook review. Immediately following this, parents will report to classrooms where they will meet with teachers, fill out demographics sheets and be shown how to use Parent Command Center. Registration for Student Care will take place before or after orientation. School spirit shirts will be sold. All checks should be made payable to JIRES.

JOHNSTON-HOPKINS ELEMENTARY

Thursday, August 8, 2019 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

School uniforms are required for orientation. Parents must bring all school supplies labeled with child's name on them. Rosters will be posted in the commons area. Parents and students will report to homeroom for orientation. Parents will complete emergency card and pay fees in homeroom class.

MANDATORY ORIENTATION FEE: Technology Fee/Science Consumable Materials $10.00 (Cash or Money Order Only!) IDs will be taken during orientation. School spirit shirts and lanyards will be sold.

LOREAUVILLE ELEMENTARY

Orientation will be held in the junior high gym beginning promptly at the times indicated. STUDENTS MUST BE IN COMPLETE SCHOOL UNIFORM. Registration fees of $30.00 are due at orientation to cover Tiger Tracks Planner/Student Handbook, ID card, lanyard, and book locker. Students who do not attend their assigned orientation or pay registration fees at their scheduled time will be assessed a $10.00 fee.

Orientation for sophomores, juniors, seniors, and skills option students will be held on the first day of school, Friday, August 9, 2019. Student Registration fees of $30.00 are due at orientation. Students who drive to school must purchase a parking permit for $10.00.

NEW IBERIA SENIOR HIGH

Freshman Thursday, August 8, 2019 9:00 a.m. Boys' Gym

Orientation will be open to freshman and parents only. Visitors are not permitted. School rules and procedures will be discussed. Students will take ID pictures, receive class schedules, receive lockers, and be allowed time to acquaint themselves with their class locations and the school campus. A total of $25 in fees will be collected (ID card, lanyard, student planner/handbook, and book locker). No checks accepted: cash or money orders only. Students must be in complete uniform. Students without full payment will be charged a $10 late fee and placed on the debt list.

Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Hi Set Orientation will be held on the first day of school, Friday, August 9, 2019. A total of $25 in fees will be collected: cash or money orders only. Students without full payment will be charged a $10 late fee and placed on the student debt list.

New Iberia Senior High

Students can begin purchasing parking permits on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 for a cost of $25 if debt free (cash or money order only). A parking permit is needed to park on campus the first day of school. Spirit gear and PE uniforms will be available for purchase at all orientations.

NORTH LEWIS ELEMENTARY

Registration should be completed prior to orientation or reporting to school. If your child is not registered prior to orientation, registration will begin at 1:00 p.m.

PESSON ELEMENTARY

All parents will report to the cafeteria for a brief orientation. Student rosters will be posted outside of the classrooms. Parents and students will meet the teachers for orientation to complete: emergency cards, bus forms, etc. A $10.00 fee will be collected for ID cards, handbook/planner, communication/fluency folder and signed papers folder. Place the money in a labeled envelope and turn it in to the teacher. Please bring exact change; cash or money orders only; checks will not be accepted. Tables will be set up to register for student care and to purchase spirit shirts. Students attending Pesson Elementary for the first time should register prior to orientation in the office from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. SCHOOL UNIFORMS ARE REQUIRED FOR ORIENATION. Parents, school supplies can be brought directly to the classroom for orientation.

ST. CHARLES ELEMENTARY

Thursday, August 8, 2019 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

All Parents and students in grades 3rd through 6th will report directly to the cafeteria for a brief orientation with the Principal and Leadership Team. Immediately following the presentation, parents and students will be allowed to visit classrooms and meet with their classroom teachers. Student rosters will be posted in the Commons Area and outside of each classroom door. Parents are encouraged to bring school supplies labeled with the child's name on them. School uniforms must be worn.

FEES: A $10.00 fee will be collected for the students ID card, lanyard, LIM Binder, communication folder for signed papers. Personal checks will not be accepted-cash or money orders only. A table will be set up in the Commons Area for Spirit Shirt and Merchandise orders.

SUGARLAND ELEMENTARY

Thursday, August 8, 2019 Pre-K-6th 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

After a brief orientation in the cafeteria with the leadership team, parents and students will report to the classrooms to meet with the teachers. Student rosters will be posted outside the classroom doors. Parents are encouraged to bring their child's labeled supplies with them. A mandatory $10.00 registration fee (cash or money order) is required of all students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Registration for the Student Care Program may be completed during the orientation. uniforms are required in order to participate in orientation.

WESTGATE HIGH

Freshman Monday, August 5, 2019 9:00 a.m.-Auditorium

The orientation will be open to first time students and parents only. Visitors are not permitted. Students will take ID pictures, receive class schedules and be allowed to acquaint themselves with their class locations and the school campus. Students must be in complete uniform to register and receive class schedules.

Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Repeat Freshman and HI SET/GED Students orientation will be held on the first day of school.

Fees: (NO CHECKS ACCEPTED, CASH OR MONEY ORDERS ONLY)

Registration Fees: $30.00 (includes registration, ID and student planner). Students who do not attend their designated orientation will be assessed a $5.00 late fee. Students must be in complete uniform to register and receive class schedules.

PE Fees: $30.00 (uniform and locker, if needed) Fee is due to the PE teacher on the first day of class.

Parking Permit: $25.00
