Iberia Parish Government has issued a declaration of emergency in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The declaration, which is similar to others issued by state and local governments over the past several days, is the first legal requirement in a case where government might need to take extraordinary measures.
Iberia's document does not at this time contain any specific orders, other than an order to the parish Office of Emergency Preparedness to activate emergency plans.
