Iberia Medical Center will provide COVID-19 vaccinations during two separate events in Jeanerette next week.

IMC officials say they are responding to a request by the Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health to host vaccine events, as there are currently no pharmacies in Jeanerette providing the vaccine and access to the vaccine is "extremely limited."

The events are open to anyone represented in Phase 1A and Phase 1B, Tier 1 as outlined by the CDC. However, the primary focus is those individuals 65 years of age and older*, based on recently revised criteria. A list of those currently eligible for the vaccine can be found below.

The vaccine clinics will be held on Tuesday, February 9, and on Thursday, February 11, at the Iberia Parish Ward 8 Recreation Center at 803 Hubertville Road in Jeanerette. Hours for both events are from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. while supplies last.

You must make an appointment for the events. Vaccinations will be administered by appointment only. Residents can register for an appointment by calling 337-374-7255 and leaving the required information on the phone line.

Quantities and supplies are limited, so once supplies are exhausted, any remaining residents not receiving a vaccine will be placed on the IMC wait list.

There is no cost to receive the vaccine.

Bring your identification card and a mask - masks will be mandatory for anyone entering the recreation center.

More information from LDH on the COVID-19 vaccine can be found here.
