NEW IBERIA, La. — A hearing has been set for the 16th Judicial District Court judge accused of threatening behavior toward prosecutors and having a bias in court.
According to court records, Judge Anthony Thibodeaux will hear the more than 200 motions to recuse Judge Lori Landry filed by the District Attorney's office.
The DA's office has filed the motions to have Landry recused citing a number of cases where she accused prosecutors themselves of having a racial bias.
In one case, Landry is accused of threatening to stab an Assistant DA in the ear with a pen.
Several of Landry's supporters appeared during a hearing on the motion to recuse that was held in court earlier this month to protest the motions.
The hearing is set for Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Iberia Parish Courthouse in New Iberia.
