Iberia Parish residents who suffered property damage during Hurricane Delta are now eligible for FEMA individual disaster assistance.
To be eligible for federal disaster aid, storm damage and losses from the hurricane and flooding must have occurred as a result of Hurricane Delta from Oct. 6 to Oct. 10. Registration for Hurricane Delta for Iberia parish has been approved for 60 days beginning Dec. 23 under FEMA’s late registration process.
FEMA says that survivors will not have to provide additional documentation and will not receive a late-application letter. Those who previously registered for Hurricane Delta (not Hurricane Laura) assistance from Iberia Parish will not have to re-register. Those registrations, which FEMA says were held, will now be processed.

The Iberia Parish Government also says it is working closely with FEMA on establishing a drive through Disaster Recovery Center in Iberia Parish where residents can make claims and submit supporting documentation in person.
Officials say they will publicize the location and operating hours of the center as soon as it is finalized with FEMA.
