The Hess Corporation has made a $25,000 donation to the Hurricane Laura Fisheries Recovery Fund to help support recovery efforts in Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Laura.

The donation will be used to help small business owners and families involved in the Louisiana Seafood Industry to get back on their feet in the wake of the devastating storm impacts.

The fund is operated by the Iberia Industrial Development Foundation (IDF).

"Our fisheries are an important part of our culture and economy and getting our fisheries businesses back up and running is critically important", said Michael J. Tarantino, Executive Director of the Iberia Development Foundation. "We appreciate our partners at Hess Corporation, and their contribution will go a long way to help get our communities back on their feet."

The Hurricane Laura Fisheries Recovery Fund was established to manage contributions to help the Louisiana seafood industry recover from the significant losses associated with Hurricane Laura.

“The fisheries industry in Louisiana has taken a hard blow," said Ryan Lamothe, Director of Operations in the Gulf of Mexico for Hess Corporation. “At Hess we are particularly aware that local fisherman and shrimpers have in some cases lost both their vessel, which they used to make a living, and also their home – a double hit for families and industry.”

Brock Hajdik, Hess Vce President for the Gulf of Mexico said that the company was proud to play a role in supporting the recovery efforts for the seafood industry in Louisiana.
