NEW IBERIA, La. - An employee is accused of stealing thousands from a New Iberia business.

In February 2020, the New Iberia Police Department was contacted by a business owner alleging an employee stole funds from the business over a period of time.

After examining the company's financial records, detectives estimated that more than $200,000 in funds were missing from the company, according to Sgt. Daesha Hughes, spokesperson for the New Iberia Police Department.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Linda Boutte on the charge of theft (over $25,000).

Boutte was employed as office manager for the business, in control of the financial accounts, Hughes stated.

Anyone with her whereabouts can contact the New Iberia Police Department at 337-369-2306 or contact Iberia Crime Stoppers.
