Located on South Hopkins Street in New Iberia, Da Berry Fresh Market is all about being in the place it needs to be, working wonders, empowering people and enriching lives, growing fresh produce. Peppers, eggplant, tomatoes and more—it’s great stuff, and in many ways, provides hope and enlightenment in this particular part of town.
Problem: Sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning, someone burglarized Da Berry Fresh Market.
Co-owner Carl Cooper says the burglar or burglars entered right through the backdoor. They made their way up the middle of the store, grabbing a random item or two.
And the big payoff was the cash register. Now marked by a mere empty space on the counter, it was stolen with about $250 inside.
The New Iberia Police Department is investigating, but you can help if you've got any information whatsoever.
