Iberia Medical Center says that COVID -19 public screenings will return to Jeanerette on Thursday, April 16.
The decision was made at the request of community leaders.
Screenings will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Jeanerette Rural Health Clinic located on Bourg Street.
The medical center says that those experiencing COVID-19 symptom including coughing, shortness of breath, and/or a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees should attend.
Residents are asked to call 311 if they are experiencing symptoms but are unsure if they should attend.
All medical questions about COVID-19 should be directed to the 211 call center.
Physicians recommend that those who attend do not take Ibuprofen or Advil the morning of the screening.
Residents should bring with them a current photo ID and insurance card.
Walk-ups will be screened at the event.
