Chick-fil-A is now open in New Iberia.
The chicken fast food restaurant held its grand opening on Thursday, December 5, 2019.Dozens lined up the previous day for a chance to win free sandwich combo meals for a year. Those lucky campers were awoken at 4:30 a.m. and lined up to receive their year supply of Chick-fil-A around 5:45 a.m.
Organizers of the celebration say that the Chick-fil-A cow led them across the red carpet to the ringing of cowbells as Operator Austin Milke awarded them with a card loaded with a year supply of Chick-fil-A.
Later that morning, a gun salute and performance from Catholic High Cheerleaders and band members helped christen the new location, the first for the city.
The 5,000-square-foot restaurant has been designed to enhance all aspects of a guest's experience from the drive-thru to the counter to in-restaurant dining.
Highlights at the restaurant include:
- Dual-lane drive-thru merging into a single pick-up point that can handle upwards of 200 cars an hour. The location also has environment-controlled canopies to further enhance the outside face-to-face ordering experience, along with Chick-fil-A mobile ordering parking for an additional guest convenience.
- Heritage restaurant design that showcases a vintage-inspired interior with floor-to-ceiling windows and drop pendant lighting.
- 108-seat dining room with a two-story indoor playground and free Wi-Fi, along with a 16-seat outdoor patio.
- Full-service menu with a variety of healthy and dietary options and breakfast until 10:30 a.m., and will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A locations are closed on Sunday.
