Seniors graduate in special ceremonies in Acadiana

Some graduates in Acadiana received their diplomas Monday night in special ceremonies.

In New Iberia Catholic High School seniors had graduation ceremonies at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

The graduates were given their diplomas during the ceremony that was also live streamed on the school's YouTube page.

Graduates were allowed two guests at the ceremony and masks were provided to graduates and masks for guest were required. Social distancing was enforced.

On Sunday, May 17, Catholic High held a "flipped parade" to honor the hardworking students.

In Vermilion Parish, Vermilion Catholic seniors had commencement ceremonies held outside.

To maintain social distancing, graduates stood with their families with groups separated by six feet.
