Local nursing home residents will get a little cheering up through cards from the community.
Grace Hospice and Palliative Care started Grace Cards to help deliver a message of love and support to the areas most vulnerable citizens.
The cards, which will be delivered to nursing homes in the area, can be a picture or a message. The group says that the goal is to lift the spirits of those in isolation.
"Honestly, they're probably going to be speechless and tear up because just a small gesture makes a huge impact," explained Bailey Fremin with Grace Hospice. "These residents have not seen their families in the flesh since March."
A box for card collection is set up at Fremin's Food in New Iberia. The box will remain at the store for people to drop off their cards and Grace Hospice will pick them up each week for delivery.
