UPDATE: Deputies have released additional information in the case of a body found on Avery Island Road today.
Deputies were called to the scene at about 2 a.m. Sunday, and found the body of a 56-year-old woman. Detectives with the IPSO Bureau of Investigation immediately began an investigation and applied for an arrest warrant for Kent Broussard, 43, of Youngsville.
Broussard was booked with obstruction of justice and failure to seek assistance.
Broussard was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail. A bond has not been set at this time. Additional charges are pending, following an autopsy by the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.
