Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies are investigating a body found in a ditch this afternoon.
The body was found near the intersection of Old Jeanerette Road and Bayside Road this afternoon about 3 p.m., a spokesman said.
The body is that of a man, but deputies do not have an identification at this time.
The coroner will determine the person's identity and cause of death, and until that happens deputies are working the case as a homicide, the spokesman said.
