One seven year old in New Iberia received a very happy birthday.

On Monday afternoon, family and friends of Niles Broussard drove by his home, wishing him a happy birthday.

Drivers honked their horns as their passengers tossed balloons and sprayed confetti.

Broussard, according to his mother, has Down Syndrome and has been on immunotherapy infusions since the quarantine began do to an autoimmune deficiency.

"He has Down Syndrome and he has an autoimmune deficiency. He's had a lot of health issues. He's been on IV infusions for his immune system," Niles' mother Aubreigh Broussard said.

He has been at home since quarantine started in March and rarely leaves. His mother says that she wanted to do something special to make sure that he saw those he has missed.

"He hasn't been out at all since quarantine, so I wanted to just do something special for him so he could kind of see family and friends that he hasn't seen in a few months," Broussard said.

Happy Birthday Niles!
