After a round of thunderstorms that moved across Acadiana on Wednesday the forecast will settle back down to what it was at the beginning of the work week.
Temperatures are going to be pushing into the mid 90s through the afternoon, with the heat index running a little warmer, and lows are expected to settle back down in the mid 70s.
There's just enough moisture to squeeze out a shower or two down along the coast line through the afternoon, but drier air is moving into the region for the end of the week.
The rest of the weekend will remain quiet with typical summer weather for both Saturday and Sunday, scattered showers will be back in the forecast for next week.
Luckily the tropics are looking quiet, and that should remain the case over the next week.
