Gray, rainy weather takes over the forecast

A cold front has moved across Acadiana and has just stalled offshore which means that the door is open for showers through the rest of the day and even through most of Saturday.

Temperatures Friday morning have been hovering in the low 50s and that is more or less where the temperatures are going to sit through the afternoon.

As the winds pick up in the afternoon the wind chill will become more of a factor and those feel like temperatures will sit down in the low to mid 40s through the entire day.

The further south you go the more showers you will run into as you get closer to the frontal boundary, that being said almost all of Acadiana will be dealing with on and off showers through the day.

While the rain is going to be persistent there isn't a threat for flooding or severe weather, it will (for the most part) be slow and monotonous for the next couple of days.

Clouds are going to try and clear on Sunday and I think the end of the weekend could bring about a little bit of patchy sunshine, although that won't last too long either.

Most of next week we'll be plagued with clouds with rounds of showers through the week, including a drop in temperatures in about a week.

That drop in temperatures may have an impact on the type of precipitation we see and (very) early indications point to the possibility of some freezing rain next week.

It's too early to say anything with confidence so I won't get into much detail of it now, but it'll be something to monitor this weekend and early next week.
