A couple of warm, spring like days will come crashing to an end Thursday with the arrival of a cold front which is going to suppress temperatures and sunshine through the foreseeable future.
Showers and thunderstorms are moving through the area early Thursday morning as the cold front drops south, and those showers will be possible through the remainder of the day.
As the front stalls just to our south it leaves the door open for light rain through Thursday and even into Friday morning, although thunderstorms will become less likely after the passage of the front.
There's not going to be much clearing over the next couple of days with clouds and gray skies locked in through the next several days, even the weekend won't produce much sunshine.
After the front passes in the morning temperatures will drop through the rest of the day, we've already seen our high, eventually settling in the mid to low 50s with strong winds coming in out of the north.
The wind chill Thursday will likely be in the 40s and getting even colder overnight with a wind chill that is in the 30s, while there will be showers temperatures will be above freezing so it will remain liquid precipitation.
Even as we get into the weekend there doesn't look like there's going to be much sunshine at all and the temperatures will stay subdued, setting the stage for what could be an outbreak of winter weather leading into Mardi Gras.
