Veterans' groups and civilians alike marked the Veterans Day holiday with ceremonies and events to pay tribute to the nation's service members.
In Lafayette, honor guards and a band highlighted Fountain Memorial's Veterans Day ceremony.
Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory, himself a veteran, gave one of the keynote speeches.
The one-hour service also included patriotic music selections.
