Ville Platte Police have arrested one man in connection with a death on Rozas Street last week.
On Friday, we reported that police were investigating a death that happened during a domestic dispute.
Today, Police report that Jeremy Breaux, age 32, of 609 Rozas Street, was arrested and charged with negligent homicide. Breaux was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail with no bond.
They now have released details about the incident. Police were called to the 600 block of Rozas Street for a disturbance. When they arrived, they found a man who was not responsive; he was transported to a hospital where he later was pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed that a man and woman were fighting over money, and the man grabbed the woman "in an aggressive manner." The victim intervened, and the man hit him in the face once, and the victim fell backward onto a paved road. The suspect ran away, and the woman called 911 for help.
