Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of this vehicle is asked to contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at 337-363-2161. All callers will remain anonymous.

With this incident in mind, and knowledge that the crime rate increases during the holidays, the sheriff is asking citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

There will be more patrol deputies on the roads during the holidays, but if citizens can take precautionary measures to secure their property that would also have an impact.

Thefts of vehicles and ATVs have increased, and investigators are working diligently to resolve these crimes and recover the stolen property. During the last few weeks, Investigators have been able to recover and return ATVs to the rightful owners.

In an effort to combat this problem, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office encourage residents to employ some basic preventative measures:

· Lock vehicles and remove keys

· Remove valuables from view

· Park vehicles in the garage or driveway

· Leave exterior dwelling lights on

· Report any suspicious behavior to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office at 363-2161.
