EUNICE, LA — Eunice Police have made an arrest in an early morning shooting on Christmas Day that left a Ville Platte man dead.

Officers arrived at a residence in the 400 block of Corn Street at around 2:45 a.m. Friday and discovered a man's body, later identified as 31-year-old Tommy Lee Williams.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police chief Randy Fontenot.

Clifford Isaiah Campbel, 20, of 401 Corn Street, was arrested in connection with the shooting. He's facing charges of second degree murder.

Fontenot says the incident was the result of a domestic dispute.

The shooting is still under investigation and more charges and another arrest are likely, Fontenot added.
