EUNICE, La — The first day of school has started virtually for St. Landry Parish, except for Eunice Jr. High School due to technical issues

Sources close to the school told KATC that the school is not participating in virtual learning on Tuesday September 8. Those same sources say that some teachers did a virtual walkout because they are not happy with the direction the school is going. The school has a new principal who started this year.

Superintendent Patrick Jenkins says that there was no walkout at Eunice Jr High today, "All teachers are at work."

Jenkins Says there were slight technical issues across the district that have been resolved. In relation to Eunice Jr High, he says that there were devices that still needed to be distributed to students at the school. Jenkins says that has been completed

Students at Eunice Jr High should be able to log on for instruction as of 12:00 p.m.
