LAFAYETTE, La. — Two polling locations in Lafayette Parish have been changed since the last elections held in July due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Lafayette Parish Registrar of Voters Office, the polling location for voters registered for precincts 98 and 99 will vote at their original location at the Broussard Community Center, located at 108 Broadview Drive in Broussard for the November and December 2020 elections.
The Registrar of Voters Office says that this location was changed back to this location was because the emergency election plan put in place for the July 2020 elections stated that that any location that handled elderly citizens had to be moved.
The registrar states that for November, there is no emergency plan, so that polling location has reverted back to its original address.
The polling location for Precincts 104 and 128 in Lafayette Parish has moved from the Allen Comeaux Recreation Center - Magnolia Room, located at 411 Bluebird Drive in Lafayette has been moved to the East Regional Library, located at 215 La Neuville Road in Youngsville for the November and December electons.
The registrar states that voters in Precincts 104 and 128 had to be moved out of the Magnolia Room due to social distancing concerns.
