Results for presidential preference primary and local elections in Louisiana

Below is a look at the results in Louisiana for the Presidential Preference Primary and several local elections.

In the Presidential Primary election, Joe Biden and Donald Trump won their parties’ respective Louisiana presidential primaries.

In Evangeline Parish, the race for Ville Platte City Marshal will go to a runoff.

Horace Johnson (NOPTY) will face off against Lisa Doucet (DEM). Tonight, Johnson received 38 percent of the vote to Doucet's 28 percent. Ville Platte voters said YES to authorize the city to renew a levy of a 4.0 mills tax on all the property subject to taxation in the City for a period of ten years, beginning with the year 2024 and ending with the year 2033, for the purpose of the maintenance and operation of the City's police department and fire department, including the acquisition of necessary equipment, and to pay salaries, benefits and related expenses.

Voters in the parish also said YES to let Prairie Mamou Gravity Drainage District No. 8 continue to levy a special tax of 3.5 mills on all property subject to taxation in the District for a period of ten years for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining or operating drainage works within and for the District.

In St. Landry Parish, voters in Grand Coteaux voted YES to allow the town to levy a fifteen (15.00) mills tax on all the property subject to taxation for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2020 and ending with the year 2029 for the purpose of acquiring, construction, improving, maintaining and operating fire protection and equipment.

In St. Martin Parish, 5 members of the Town of Henderson Council have been elected. They include the following:
Juanita Latiolais "Nita" Berard (DEM)
Judy Broussard (IND)
William "Bill" LeGrand (IND)
Jody Meche (IND)
William White (REP)
