Downtown Lafayette is reminding patrons of bars, clubs and restaurants that there are still restrictions in place due to COVID-19.

Downtown Development released a list of nightlife expectations that visitors to the downtown area should remember when going out.

Patrons at bars downtown should expect reduced capacities. Locations are operating at either a 25 percent of 50 percent capacity.

Long lines cannot disrupt the movement of pedestrians and car traffic. Downtown Lafayette asks that those heading to the area practice social distancing while in line for any venue. Those waiting in lines should not block driveways or storefronts. They are also asked to respect private property.

No glass is allowed on the street at any time.

No open containers will be allowed on the street after midnight. The go-cup ordinance ends at midnight.

Parking is available at Vermilion Street Parking garage. Those heading downtown should expect street closures and restricted traffic on Jefferson Street.
