Rapides Parish Sheriff's deputies have booked an Elizabeth woman with murder in connection with the death of an 81-year-old man.
Kristina Nichole Hoffpauir, 31, was booked with first-degree murder. She remains in the Rapides Parish Detention Center in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Hoffpauir is accused in connection with the death of Sherwood Emanuel Doyle, 81, also of Elizabeth.
Deputies were called to a home on Chester West Road and found Doyle's body. Foul play was suspected, and detectives began an investigation. They identified Hoffpauir as an acquaintance of Doyle's and a suspect in his death. They obtained a warrant and arrested her, a spokesman said.
