We've received an update on Louisiana Veteran's Administration facilities.
The following Alexandria VA Health Care System (AVAHCS) facilities will be closed August 31 and September 1 due to ongoing structural challenges following Hurricane Laura:
Fort Polk Community Based Outpatient Clinic
Douglas Fournet VA Clinic in Lake Charles
Alexandria VA Medical Center
The Alexandria VA Urgent Care Clinic will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, please call (318) 473-0010, extension 5083.
The following facilities will be open and seeing scheduled Veterans beginning August 31:
Jennings Community Based Outpatient Clinic
Lafayette Community Based Outpatient Clinic
Lafayette Campus B – Mental Health
Natchitoches Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
Veterans may call (318) 466-4000 Option 2 or Vets can use any pharmacy within the Express Scripts network to include chain stores (Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid). Please bring your empty prescription bottle, no older than 90 days, with available refills. Veteran must also present a valid VA photo ID and driver’s license.
