THIBODAUX — The Thibodaux Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning that left two critically injured.

Police Chief Bryan Zeringue says that the shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. on October 13, outside an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Ridgefield Avenue. When police arrived, they say they discovered two victims had been shot multiple times.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals with life threatening injuries. They are currently in stable, but critical condition.

“This does not appear to be a random shooting,” said Chief Bryan Zeringue. “Our thoughts and our prayers are with the family and friends of the victims.”

An investigation is ongoing. The victim’s identity and a suspected motive has not been released.
