Baton Rouge Police have identified the child shot and killed this morning on Birch Street as 3-year-old Amir Antoine.
WBRZ reports that police responded to a shooting involving a child on Birch Street around noon.
The boy was reportedly shot in the head and was transported to Children's Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola told The Advocate that "The child has succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital."
This is the second juvenile injured in Baton Rouge in two days, according to the paper. A five-year-old victim was shot in the head in a shooting at the Super 8 Motel on Rieger Road Friday.
