A teenage driver was booked today in connection with a July 4 crash that killed a Montgomery man.

Colton A.W. Trouille, 18, of Montgomery, was booked with vehicular homicide, reckless operation, no seat belt, open container, and expired inspection sticker. He was booked into the Grant Parish Detention Center today in connection with the fatal accident that happened on July 4.

Troopers responded to the crash on South Hargis Road around 11:00 p.m. They found that Trouille was driving a pick-up truck with MIchael Chelette, 43, as a passenger. Trouille allegedly lost control of his truck, drove off the right side of the road and crashed into a tree, trooper say.

Trouille was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Chelette was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time, trooper said routine toxicology tests were conducted.
