Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash at around 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20.
According to police, the crash occurred on LA Hwy 113, south of Pitkin. The motorcyclist, Jerry A. Scalisis, 71, was driving northbound when he lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then overturned and Scalisi was ejected.
Scalisi was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead.
Toxicology tests are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
